TerraSprout Market: Terms of Use
Effective date: 2026-10-01
The TerraSprout market lets neighbours swap what they grew. By creating a market account you agree to these terms and to the TerraSprout Privacy Policy. Questions: ayden@terryadvisors.com.
1. Who can use the market
You must be 18 or older. The market involves meeting people in person, and TerraSprout does not allow anyone younger to use it. One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
2. What you can list
- Only raw fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers that you grew yourself.
- No regulated food. Eggs, dairy, meat, fish, and anything canned, pickled, preserved, baked, fermented or infused need a license and an inspected kitchen almost everywhere, so the market will not accept them.
- Nothing illegal where you live, and nothing unsafe to eat or handle.
- Describe what you list honestly, including how it was grown.
The rules for giving or selling home-grown produce differ by state and country. It is your responsibility to follow the rules where you live.
3. Swaps, not sales (for now)
Payments are not switched on: every listing is a free swap or giveaway. If selling for money is added later, these terms will be updated first, and sales will be handled by Stripe under Stripe's own terms.
4. Meeting up
Nothing is posted or delivered: you arrange a pickup with the other grower. Meet somewhere public you are comfortable with — a car park, a farmers' market, or a police station's exchange zone. You can of course choose somewhere else; we would rather not be the ones suggesting your own doorstep. Check produce before you take it, and wash it before you eat it. TerraSprout does not check the people, the produce or the places involved.
5. How to behave
Do not harass, threaten, deceive or spam other growers. Do not use the market to advertise anything other than what you grew, or to collect other people's information. Messages are for arranging swaps.
6. Reports and removal
Anyone can report a listing that breaks these rules. A listing that several growers report is hidden while it is reviewed. We may remove any listing, or suspend or close any account, that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk, with or without notice.
7. TerraSprout's role
TerraSprout provides a place for neighbours to find each other. We are not a party to any swap, we do not inspect produce, and we do not guarantee the quality, safety or legality of anything listed, or that anyone will turn up. The market is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss, illness or injury that comes from a swap, a meeting or anything listed. If you have a dispute with another grower, it is between you and them.
8. Limits of these terms
To the extent the law allows, TerraSprout's total liability to you for anything to do with the market is limited to $50. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived. These terms are governed by the laws of New Jersey, matching the app's own terms of use.
Wherever a grower lives, the rights their own state's consumer law gives them and does not let them sign away still apply.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time with "Delete account" in the market. This removes your account, your listings and your messages; records of past orders stay so the other person keeps their own record, with your name removed.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the market after that, the new terms apply.
